***NOTICE***
***Please contact the office for current rules and availability 705-645-3486***
Overview: St. Thomas’ offers a large, attractive, and clean facility. We are centrally located on the
main street of town with ample parking. There is a wheelchair ramp and power assisted door as well as
an accessible washroom and an elevator allowing access to all three levels of our building. Good
quality tables and chairs and the availability of a full kitchen all add up to great possibilities
for your meeting or event.
Browning Hall: This is our main gathering space and it is suitable for any number of occasions. You
can comfortably seat a hundred people around tables or auditorium style. A modest sound system and
free Wi-Fi are available for presentations (use of projector, computer speakers and flip chart also
negotiable). Cloth covered chairs and easily movable tables are at the ready. There are two south
facing and two north facing windows, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The hall is air
conditioned.
Capacity is 125 people. For 4 hours or less the rental rate is $100.00 and over 4 hours it is
$175.00. Use of the kitchen is $40.00 for light use (tea/coffee/dishwasher) and $80.00
(cooking, baking, dishwasher) for heavy use. We have a flip chart stand (paper not supplied),
projector, microphone system available. Tables and chairs are included with the room.
Kitchen: Right beside Browning Hall is our fully stocked kitchen. It includes a commercial
dishwasher (sanitizer) and modern stove, Bunn coffee maker, fridge and freezer room, and coffee
& tea carafes.
Andrew Forrest Room: Upstairs is a smaller but very comfortable meeting room (720 square feet). It
is accessible by stairs or by elevator. This room has two large windows to let in lots of light on
sunny days, and has windows that open to allow for cross ventilation in the summer. Tables & chairs
are in the room, as are plenty of outlets for your presentation equipment. Snacks and coffee/tea can
be served in this room so long as refrigeration is not required.
Capacity is 35 people. The rate for 4 hours or less is $50.00 and for over 4 hours it is $75.00. Use
of the kitchen is $40.00 for light use (tea/coffee/dishwasher) and $80.00 (cooking, baking, dishwasher)
for heavy use. We have a flip chart stand (paper not supplied), projector. Tables and chairs are
included with the room. There is a washroom upstairs and we also have an elevator for anyone with
mobility issues.
The Upper Room: Also upstairs is a comfortable space we fondly call “The Upper Room” or “Quiet Room.”
Suitable for small groups, this room has a homey atmosphere with couches, chairs, lamps and artwork.
Capacity is 8-10 people. For 4 hours or less the rental rate is $30.00 and over 4 hours it is $50.00.
Tables and chairs are included with the room.
The Algoma Room: Our lower level features another large meeting space of 1360 square feet. Though
not ideal for meals or large groups with tables, it is fabulous space for creative play, art,
exercise, dance, music, support circles, and more. It is accessible by stairs or by elevator and,
being basement space, does not have windows but does have two exits to the outside.
Capacity is 120 people for this room. There are washrooms available on that floor and we have an
elevator for anyone with mobility issues. There is also a sink in that room and a place to prepare
coffee/tea etc. The rate for this room is for 4 hours or less $75.00 and over 4 hours the rate is
$150.00.
Washrooms: Each level of our building has washrooms. The upstairs washroom is not wheelchair accessible.
The main floor washroom is right beside Browning Hall and is fully accessible, including a raised
toilet for ease of standing/sitting. Downstairs (outside the Algoma room) are two, five-stall
washrooms, many with new, low-flush toilets.
Courtyard: The Julia Onions Courtyard is a beautiful outdoor sitting area. Suitable for a small
outdoor meeting, for prayer, and quiet time. Seasonally available.
Worship Space: Though the worship space cannot be rented, St. Thomas’ is open to exploring
partnerships with musicians and actors and others who would appreciate great acoustics and
reverent, beautiful space. Please speak with our priest, The Rev. Judie Cooper.
For more information, including cost and availability for one-time or ongoing use, please contact our
Parish Administrators, Tracy May or Cathy Taylor, at 705-645-3486. Please note that St. Thomas’ is
part of a wider church family which follows specific policies around the serving of alcohol,
insurance coverage, and other important issues. We make every effort to offer rates that are fair
and our wish is to provide quality space for our community at large, adding value to celebrations,
learning opportunities, and more.
